Suki Waterhouse Has the Cool Girl’s Alternative to Skimpy Club Clothes

Suki Waterhouse Has the Cool Girl’s Alternative to Skimpy Club Clothes

It’s hump day and that means the weekend is officially in sight. But it’s never too early to start doing a little mental preparation for your going-out wardrobe. Before you reach for some skimpy club clothes for the umpteenth Friday night in a row, why not switch it up with an ensemble that feels just as fun—and a whole lot more comfortable? That’s what model Suki Waterhouse did last night when she went out for a Noel Gallagher concert in Los Angeles wearing a playful mash-up of pieces that made her covered-up look seem surprisingly alluring.

Waterhouse chose a simple lilac-colored crewneck with subtle metallic sheen. She then wrapped around her a fur boa in a similar but stronger shade of purple. The tonal strategy gave the knit polish, and the mix of textures oozed effortless glamour. Waterhouse didn’t let the color scheme prevent her from wilding out in leopard capri pants in a rich velvet finish. The spotted trousers were on-trend, and more unexpected than the usual leopard statement coat. Together, the pastels and prints gave off a ’70s, dancing-queen feel—thanks in no small part to a pair of transparent sandals with a pastel pink wedge. The practical reinterpretation of the naked shoe was just the thing to suit Waterhouse’s not-so-naked party style.
