Jean Beaugar by Withley Verdiner

Born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Withley's journey to founding Jean Beaugar began with a passion for self-expression through art. While painting was his initial creative outlet, it was the canvas of clothing that truly ignited his imagination. Experimenting with designs on sport jackets, jeans, and leather became a cherished hobby, one that soon caught the eye of admirers. 

Encouraged by their praise, Withley embarked on a new path in the world of fashion. In 1999, he officially launched Jean Beaugar, a brand inspired by the fusion of his younger brother Jean's name and the spirit of creativity embodied by his older brother Beaugar. This venture was more than just a business endeavor – it was a realization of a lifelong dream to create clothing that not only adorned the body but also empowered individuals to express themselves boldly. 

The transition from Haiti to Brooklyn, NY in 1991 marked a pivotal chapter in his pursuit of the 'American Dream.' Fueled by ambition and a desire to carve his own path, Withley immersed himself in the vibrant culture of New York City, drawing inspiration from its diverse tapestry of styles and influences. Today, Jean Beaugar stands as a testament to my unwavering dedication to craftsmanship, innovation, and the transformative power of fashion. With each collection, I strive to capture the essence of modern elegance while staying true to my roots and the spirit of artistic expression that defines the heart of my brand.
